Important Update

Lessons will be in line with the Federal Government’s advised social distancing measures (defined by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention):

  • Level III-V classes will be limited to 4 students in each group
  • Parent & tot will be limited to 6 students in each group
  • Lessons will be given width wise of the pool with a lane line as a stopping point and as a barrier to the swim instructor
  • Masks will be provided for swim instructors
  • All materials used for the lesson will be sanitized after each class
  • “X”s will be placed around the outside of the pool gate for parents who wish to stay
  • Locker room restrooms will be available on an emergency basis only.

Parent & Tot

Ages 6 – 36 Months  |  $29.50 Per Session

OBJECTIVE:
​Parents are taught techniques and positions to enhance their child’s comfort level in the water. Basics include water adjustment, body positions, and breath control. This program is NOT designed to teach children to be accomplished swimmers.

PREREQUISITE:
Child (6 months – 3 years old) must be accompanied by an adult

Swim Levels I-V

Ages 3 – 8 Years  |  $40 Per Session

Level I: Water Discovery

OBJECTIVE:
Learning elementary skills and helping students feel comfortable in the water. Includes breath control, fully submerging head, supported floating and kicking on front and back, and becoming familiar with alternating arm action.

PREREQUISITE:
Must be able to sit on the pool steps without a parent.

Level II: Primary Skills

OBJECTIVE:
Teaches basic freestyle and backstroke swimming skills including kicking, floating, gliding, and arm strokes. Introduces rhythmic breathing.

PREREQUISITE:
Must be able to demonstrate full submersion in the water.

Level III: Stroke Modification

OBJECTIVE:
Teaches coordination of basic freestyle and backstroke, jumping into deep water and bobbing as a form of locomotion.
Introduces diving and reversing direction while swimming.

PREREQUISITE:
Unsupported back and front float, standing rhythmic breathing, swim on front (using combined arm and leg actions) for at least 5 body lengths, and kick on back for at least 5 body lengths

Level IV: Stroke Enhancement

OBJECTIVE:
Develop coordination of freestyle and backstroke skills. Teaches basic breaststroke kick and sculling motion. Introduces side breathing (rotary breathing) and turning at the wall.

PREREQUISITE:
Feet first entry into deep water, streamline for at least 3 body lengths, freestyle for 15 yards (with side breathing), and backstroke for 15 yards

LEVEL V: Stroke Reinforcement

OBJECTIVE:
Teaches breaststroke arm action, butterfly kick, open turns and alternate breathing for freestyle. Continued development of coordination of arm, leg & breathing action in free and back.

PREREQUISITE:
Swim underwater 3-5 body lengths, dive from a standing position, freestyle for 25 yards, backstroke for 25 yards, breaststroke for 15 yards, and butterfly for 15 yards
